DUPR 14 Summer Series - MAKING HISTORY on PALATKA NIGHT

This DUPR 14 MLP special event - a Palatka connection on every team

SECOND TIME's THE CHARM:

Deb Rosendale & Joe Politano (with Preston Pena) found a sub for Teri Singer, rebranded the team and swept the final round to come away with victory in this Wednesday night DUPR14 event after narrowly missing out on a win in their previous tournament.

MAKING HISTORY:

Griff n the Grands went undefeated into the final round alongside HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT due to the LARGEST COMEBACK IN MLP HISTORY! GnG had a total of 3 points after 5 players had gone through the rotation and were trailing 13-4 in the tiebreaker vs the "Palatka 3 and a half", when GnG's Griffin Suparto started the rally by winning his last 2 serves. Mark Thomas followed suit, helping make the score a bit more respectable @ 14-7 and putting The Palatka 3.5 into the freeze. Kathy Hole took the rally into high gear by winning all 3 of her serves against Carrie Pignato to get to double figures at 10-14. Jimmi Symonds then held off match point against singles Golden Ticket winner Robbie Rivera and put 2 more on the board for her team masking it 12-14. Griffin followed that up by defending another match point against Jeff Pignato and adding 2 more to his side of the board knotting it up at 14 all before handing the baton to Mark Thomas who won the final 2 points of the tiebreaker to win the match and move on to the Gold medal round.

A PERFECT PAIR - almost:

Robbie Rivera and Claudine Hatcher Owen had another stellar event, going undefeated to run their record when paired together to 8-1.

GIRL POWER! wasnt enough:

Hanna Duncan won all her womens doubles matches with Elisabeth Pignato, but neither could find the chemistry in mixed and ended up in a tiebreaker for bronze vs the only team with 3 Palatka players, 2 being Mom and Dad Pignato. Dad Jeff took 5 out of 6 points in the tiebreaker from his daughter helping assure his team of a podium finish. I see some singles practice in their future for Hanna and Elisabeth...
