RULES AND SCORING:
LINEUPS:
- Round 1 lineups are based on DUPR. Match 1 is the #1 seed plays #4 seed, Match 2 is #2 plays #3
- Round 2 is based on results of round 1
- Winner of Round 1 match 1 plays loser of round 1 match 2
- Winner of Round 1 match 2 plays loser of round 1 match 1
- Round 3 is the teams that have not played each other yet. It works out.
ORDER OF PLAY:
- Game 1 - Womens Doubles
- Game 2 - Mens Doubles
- Game 3 - Mixed Doubles 1
- Game 4 - Mixed Doubles 2 (All games must be played in order to be eligible for MVP & other Awards)
- Dreambreaker if needed
HOME & AWAY:
- AWAY puts out mixed lineups first and HOME gets to plan accordingly
- HOME puts out tiebreaker lineup first and AWAY gets the advantage of putting out players to its advantage
- Lower team always has choice of HOME/AWAY.
- Round 1 is based on DUPR. Lower DUPR score gets pick
- Round 2 is based on record. The worse record gets to pick
- Round 3 is based on record , then DUPR if records are equal
CHOOSING SIDE or SERVE:
- IF the records are equal for both teams, it’s split between the 2 courts. So, Team 1 mens and team 2 womens get to choose. Team 1 in mixed 1, team 2 in mixed 2 choose.
- Any time a team has a worse record, they choose on both courts.
SCORING:
- ALL GAMES ARE to 15 WIN BY 2. Switch sides at 8, Including tiebreakers (except for round 3.)
CHANGING LEFT/RIGHT POSITIONS ON THE COURT:
- Players can ONLY change from left to right at any timeout
TIMEOUTS:
- Each team gets two 1 minute timeouts per game.
- There is also 1 minute allowed when switching sides mid-game (8pts)
- All games including Tiebreakers will have 2 timeouts per team (1 minute per timeout)
FREEZES:
- When a team freezes, they only score when they serve
- The leading team freezes at 14 points
- The trailing team freezes at 13 points
- At 13-13 no team is frozen, however the next point freezes BOTH teams
- NO team will ever UNFREEZE once it is frozen
- play will continue until one team wins by 2
TIEBREAKERS:
- Tiebreakerrs are used when both teams win 2 and lose 2 of their matches against each other.
- The DREAMRBREAKER* format is used with modified scoring.
- ALL tiebreaker players stay out for 3 serves, NOT 3 points. After 3 serves the next players in order from both teams take the court.
- After all 4 players have played 3 serves, each team starts back at the top of their respective lineups
- NO CHANGE can be made to your lineup order once it has been submitted
FINAL ROUND TIEBREAKER:
- If two teams go into the final match undefeated and end up in a tiebreaker, it will be played to 21 win by 2
- The players play 4 serves each
- The leading team freezes at 20
- The trailing team freezes at 18
- Switch sides at 11
- 2 timeouts per team
RULE CHANGES JUNE 2023
- 1) VIDEO (VAR) CHALLENGE REVEW
- Each team may ask for a video review up to 3 times per match
- 2) END CHANGES between matches
- Teams start the next game on the same side they finsh last game
- 3) 3 “FREE” VIDEO CHALLENGES
- No timeouts are lost on the first 3 video challenges
- 4) NEW COIN TOSS CHOICES:
- Men’s Doubles/Womens Doubles as first match
- Side or End
- Whether to Serve or Receive
- ACT/REACT to Mixed Doubles or Dreambreaker.
- SERVICE FAULT WARNING
- The 1st time you serve without caling score is a warning
- LINE CALLS
- The OUT call has to be made immediately
